A touch of wind
A gentle breeze
A cooling touch
That’s sure to please
Patterns emerging
The ripples they race
And then disappear
As they fade into space
Small gentle wavelets
Embracing the shore
Just like they’ve done
So many ages before
These are the constants
Of water and air
Stop and enjoy them
As long as you’re there
About the Poem Wisps on the Water
Wisps on the Water is a poem inspired by the art of Inga Street. We each seem to capture a similar view of nature with different mediums. I happen to love lakes. I especially enjoy early mornings. A couple years ago, I was at Lake George and headed down to the lake before the sun came up. There were a handful of others on the shore for the same purpose. Everyone was silent and we just watched the interaction of the fog, the water, and the sun as it was making it’s appearance. It’s a very subtle intimate time of connecting with nature.
Aside from the occasional duck, there is is almost no sound at all. The fog just seems to dance over the waters and touching it lightly. These wisps on the water seem to be alive. A gentle breeze moves the fog around and the water gently ripples as it moves toward the shore. There it greets the shore with a warm hello and heads back into the lake to dissipate and become another ripple. The fog eventually separates into water or air and makes way for the sun of a new day. Take time to enjoy this theatrical presentation that mother nature provides for us on a daily basis.
Inspirational Poetry Books
Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
