The colors come together
The canvas is the sky
A moment for the viewing
And then it passes by
Much like a mandala
With no intent to last
We share the passing drama
As it becomes part of the past
We tend to look for beauty
That lasts the test of time
But to not see what is fleeting
Would truly be a crime
The drama of a sunset
Forces us to pause
To see the present beauty
And join in the applause
About the Poem Watercolor Sunsets
The poem Watercolor Sunsets is partially about magical sunsets, but also how life can sometimes imitate art. Kim Murgatroyd gets credit for the phrase. Sunsets can be really dramatic. Many times they look like something someone painted. It’s an interesting point of view since the painting probably came from the actual sunset it self. Sometimes it doesn’t look real and we are quicker to think it’s an artist’s interpretation. Perhaps on a larger scale, that’s exactly what is happening in nature 🙂
Inspirational Poetry Books
Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
