Who will be the jury
To judge what’s right and wrong
Will their shared opinion
Bring everyone along

Who will set the standard
Of what does count as facts
And do the painful digging
To find when it does lack

Sometimes it is none of these
Just things that some believe
That keep the truth hidden
By some who would deceive

It comes down to acceptance
Where belief and truth collide
And we somehow reach validation
Where truth can no longer hide

About the Poem Validation

The poem validation is about what’s real and true and who gets to decide. It seems like an obvious, simple thing, but lately it is not. Between AI, fake news and politicians needing to be fact checked on an hourly basis we can end up questioning everything – including ourselves. It’s very easy to get caught up in narratives that have been pre-scripted for us. You don’t need to think about whether it’s true or not, you just need to feel what the creators want you to feel.

We need to step back from the messages that are directed towards us and evaluate them. This includes political messages and messages in general about what we might be doing, our appearance, or what value we might have as a person. They are all someone else’s opinion. Some might have your best interest at heart. Others are total crap or designed to elicit a specific response. Humans are easy to influence and manipulate. As they say “Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.”. Whatever messages are being sent your way, don’t just take them on faith. Question them and instead listen to yourself first. The world will be a better place when we all do.

Poetry Books

Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products

While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
