It’s not as we would see it
But maybe in our mind
Brings appreciation
To insight we might find
The colors and the patterns
We normally might not see
Give us all permission
To set imagination free
How will we be different
When we see in other ways
All part of the journey
As we reach another phase
So much we take for granted
In what we see and do
But all of that can change us
When we have a stained glass view
About the Stained Glass View
The poem Stained Glass View is how how stained glass can give is a different appreciation for things. Sometimes it’s a painting rather than stained glass. There’s a story about Picasso being approached by a woman on a train. She asked him why he didn’t paint things as real. He asked her what she defined as real. She took out a picture of her family from her purse. To which he replied, “So black and white and flat.” I’m paraphrasing but you get the idea. Often when we see things in nature, we don’t appreciate the individual colors. But sometimes when we see things in other ways, we get a true appreciation for them.

Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
