Cherish every moment
Every minute, every day
Know that I’m still with you
Even though I’ve gone away
Many will feel cheated
When days seem to come up short
And cries do go unanswered
Getting not even a retort
Think in terms of moments
And not in terms of time
See the gift that’s given
And not taken as a crime
This goes against so many things
In how we see our days
But learning how to cherish
Can change us in many ways
About the Poem Cherish
The poem Cherish is about the loss of a child. We need to not take the time we have with those around us for granted. We actually need to look at our time differently. Whether we have someone in our lives for 5 minutes or 50 year, it really is not about the time. It’s about the moments and the memories we share during that time. You can spend your life with someone watching TV and working, and not really have much in the way of memorable moments. Are there lots of times that you cherish, or just lots of time? If you fall into the later group, try to make some memories. Be intentional because none of us know how long we have with those we love.
Inspirational Poetry Books
Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
