When you go chasing rainbows
You don’t know what you’ll find
The things for which you’re searching
Or just dreams in your mind
Will you leave your world behind
Or will it follow you
Will you find that things don’t change
Or will it be brand new
Maybe you will be presented
With a road that shows the way
And maybe you will find the strength
To face challenge every day
You might find what you wish for
Is really not that far
And there is no need for chasing rainbows
Or wishing on a star
About the Poem Chasing Rainbows
This inspirational poem is inspired by the story of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz but it applies to many of our lives. Rainbows are among the most fleeting of moments. Trying to catch them or find there end is not within our realm of possibilities. The only way to truly catch a rainbow is with a camera. The photo is of the Wizard of Oz house on Martha’s Vineyard. It’s one of the gingerbread houses in Oaks Bluff. It was also inspired by a play by the same name. If all goes well, it should be on Broadway sometime in 2020 or 2021.

Inspirational Poetry Books
Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
